Levels of bending
(These are just suggestions on what your character could possibly do)
Here at Master of the Four Elemens, you are allowed to choose your bending level, I thought it would be best to have something posted to help you realize what you can and cannot do at certain levels. There are four levels; Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Master. Each level allows you to perform more powerful moves and attacks with your bending. The highest level possible is Master. Here i will explain what kinds of moves you can perform at each level with your element, but keep in mind you can be as creative as you want with your bending, so long as it stays at a scale of your level.

Firebending
Firebending is the art of controlling fire. Its style is based on quick and ferocious attacks that overwhelm the opponent, giving a chance for a final and fatal blow. Beginner level Firebenders can control a small amount of flames, while master Firebenders can manipulate an ample amount of flames, generate lightning, and form their flames into various shapes and sizes. Firebenders can also control the amount and intensity of their flames. The intensity of their flames can be demonstrated by the color, yellow being the lowest, followed by orange then red, and then blue being the highest.
Firebending is based on several martial arts including Northern Shaolin, Xing Yi and Southern Dragon Claw Kung Fu. These techniques are based around breathing, this controls flames in many ways.
Beginner Firebender - Beginner level benders are those who are just beginning to learn how to Firebend. They can produce small amounts of flames and can perform a few attacks such as projecting small fireballs and creating small bursts of flame. The color of flames are yellow, the lowest intensity level of fire.
Examples of beginner Firebenders; Aang (specifically in episode 16 since this is the only time he truly demonstrates Firebending)
Intermediate Firebender - Intermediate level Firebenders are now beginning to learn more advanced moves and their skill is improving, however they are only exceptionally good, and still have much to learn. They can bend a more sufficient amount of flames, and can project a more ample amount of flames at an opponent. They are able to do all Beginner level attacks at a more higher level. Their fire color is orange. New moves that can be performed at this level are,
* can create pinwheels of flames * can create fiery shapes * Can create small walls of fire that can be used to absorb incoming attacks or it can be projected at an opponent * can create whips of fire * can create multiple fire blasts of blazing arcs and rings by spin kicking * can encase a body part in fire without burning themselves * can project a slow stream of flame over a very short distance
Examples of Intermediate Firebenders; Zuko in the beginning of book one
Advanced Firebender - Advanced Firebenders are those who have become very skilled in Firebending, and are extremely good. They prove to be very skillful in Firebending, however they still have more aspects to learn about the art. They can manipulate large amounts of flames, and can project larger and faster moving barrages of fire. They can do all moves from Beginner and Intermediate levels at a more stronger and advanced rate. New moves that can be performed at this level,
* can create long fiery whips of flames that seem almost solid and have a strong concussive force * can encase a large portion of their bodies in flames without burning themselves * can generate a very small amount of electricity such as sparks * can incorporate weapons into Firebending
Examples of Advanced Firebenders; Zuko in book two (more specifically near the end chapters of book two), Azula
Master Firebender - At this level, a Firebender can perform every basic move in the previous levels, and can also create more and advanced moves on their own. They can do almost anything they want with their Firebending, and are highly skilled both in and out of combat. Moves this level allows are,
* can manipulate a huge amount of flames * able to project large walls of fire at an opponent * can project large, multiple barrages of fire at an opponent * the ability to generate electricity, and cast bolts of lightning at an opponent * ability to create large jets of fire at the heels of their feet that can propel them at high speeds * can absorb chi from fire * can encase the entire body in flames * can create fiery figures and shapes that can move under their control * able to project large, fast streams of flames. * has the ability to breath fire by heating the air in the lungs, then creating fire as it leaves the mouth * can create new an advanced moves

Airbending
Airbending is the art of controlling air. Not much is known about the art of Airbending since the Air Nomads were exterminated, however a few simple aspects of the art remain.
Airbending is based on mainly one martial art, Ba Gua, the art focuses on circular techniques which allows Airbenders to manipulate the air currents.
Beginner Airbender - At this level, Airbenders can control a good amount of the air around them. Usually most of their attacks Are very weak, but they have some strong defensive moves. They can create gusts of wind and small tornadoes.
Examples of Beginner Airbenders; none
Intermediate Airbender - There are not many new techniques learned at this level, it mostly depends on the benders form of bending. Most techniques learned at a beginner level can be performed at a higher scale.
Examples of Intermediate Airbenders; none
Advanced Airbender - At this level Airbending has increased dramaticly, an Airbender can now create dangerous gusts of wind, and can do a more variety of attacks with their bending.
Examples of Advanced Airbenders; none
Master Airbender - At this level, an Airbender can make air dangerous for their opponents, any moves from the previous levels can be done at an extremly higher scale.
Examples of Master Airbenders; Aang
Note: There is not much to tell about Airbending because its a pretty simple art. Special types of moves are based on the creativity of the bender.

Waterbending
Waterbending is the art of controlling water. It features slow, graceful movement the mimics the feel of flowing water. Waterbending is a more defensive bending art, however it also has much offensive techniques as well. Waterbenders can manipulate any form of water, even possessing the ability to freeze water, melt ice, or condense water into mist. They can even control the water pressure, giving the ability to grab things with water, or slice clean through objects. Beginners can control small amounts of water, able to create small lashing whips or water and miniature waves, to masters being able to control huge amounts of water, creating large waves and walls of water.
Water bending is based on two very similar martial arts, Tai Chi and Tai Chi Chuan, Tai Chi teaches to control energy in flowing movements and how to release it. Tai Chi Chuan is an advanced level of tai Chi with extra techniques.
Beginner Waterbender - Beginner waterbenders don't posses a lot of special abilities with water, however they can control small amounts of water and can create lashing whips (called the water whip). Most benders at this level have a low control over water, especially if they get angry.
Examples of Beginner Waterbenders; Katara in the first few episodes of book 1, Aang in most of book 1
Intermediate Waterbender - Intermediate Waterbenders are beginning to get better at controlling larger quantities of water, but they still have much to learn. They can perform any beginner move at a more higher scale. New moves at this level are;
* able to freeze small amounts of water into thin layers of ice * can turn water into mist * can create medium sized waves
Examples of Intermediate Waterbenders; Katara in most of book 1, Aang near the end of book one
Advanced Waterbender - At this level, Waterbenders have learned to do more offensive attacks with Waterbending, and can control large amounts of water with ease. They can do any type of skill from Beginner and Intermediate levels at a more advanced and larger rate. New moves at this level are;
* can manipulate water pressure to allow water to have more or less force * able to collect water found in the air and ground to form a usable amount of water * can bend water within plants, giving the ability to control plants
Master Waterbender - At this level, a Waterbender has completely mastered the art. They can do virtually any possible move, and can control a huge amount of water, able to create massive waves and whips. They can do any move from the previous level at a master scale.
Examples of Master Waterbenders; Master Pakku, Katara in book 2
Note: If you haven't noticed, this bending art does not have many new techniques. This is because a Waterbending move depends on the bender and the benders creativity. You can do anything with your bending so long as it stays on a scale of your level.

Earthbending
Earthbending is the art of manipulating earth (in means of rock, dirt, soil, etc). It is the most balanced of all arts, having both defensive and offensive capabilities. Its attacks are mostly basic, levitating a large stone and propelling it at an opponent by a kicking or punching motion. Eartbenders can also create walls of stone to protect them from oncoming attacks. They have the ability to cause fissures in the earth, and can create mini earthquakes by striking the ground with their feet to throw an opponent off balance.
Earthbending is mainly divided into two styles of martial arts, Hung Gar consisting of strong and soft techniques, Earth Benders are shown mainly levitating and launching earth in this style. And Southern Praying Mantis style (displayed by Toph) with strong, sharp techniques, when earth is manipulated in this style it remains rooted to the ground rather than lifting from it. Both styles are mainly based around strong, rooted stances.
Beginner Earthbender [image] - A beginner Earthbender knows a few aspects of the art, and they can only bend basic types of earth (such as soil and rocks), and can only a small amount. At this level an Earthbender can can levitate small boulders, and can propel them at an opponent.
Examples of Beginner Earthbenders; Aang in the beginnings of book 2
Intermediate Earthbender [image] - At this level, Earthbenders become more powerful, and can give more force to their attacks. They can manipulate larger slabs of stone, and can create tiny fissures in the earth at will. They can do any Beginner level move at a higher rate.
Examples of Intermediate Earthbenders; Aang near the end of book 2
Advanced Earthbender [image] - At this level an Earthbender proves to be very strong, able to propel a slab of rock at very high speeds. Earthbenders at this level can bend almost any type of earth without any difficulties, and can levitate hill sized boulders. They can even create mini earthquakes by striking the ground with their feet.
Examples of Advanced Earthbenders; Aang in the end of book 2
Master Earthbender [image] - At this level an Earthbender proves to be extremely skilled with customary attacks. They can do virtually any technique in the previous levels at an extremely higher scale, and can levitate huge amounts of multiple rocks at one time. Toph has demonstrated some unique abilities as an Earthbender as well, such as being able to metalbend (manipulate metal) and she can feel the vibrations in the earth to help her see.
Examples of Master Earthbenders; Toph, King Bumi, possibly Aang Note: Like Waterbending, Earthbending has very basic techniques so therefor its special attacks depend on the creativity of the bender.
